Bluetongue Update

7 December 2023

Outbreaks of BTV-3 have been reported across The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

So far, 8 cases have been confirmed in South East England and a Temporary Control Zone (TCZ) has been set up in Kent. A live map of the TCZ from DEFRA can be found here

Current weather conditions are not favourable for the Midge that carries the virus, so cases in our area in the West are unlikely.
